Co-founder of Our Town Story. If you have any questions about the site, or wish to provide feedback, please visit the Admin forum and post in the appropriate place - we'll do our best to help you out as quickly as we can!
We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia .
We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

This view across the grass toward Front Street has changed little, although the tree in the foreground has grown considerably in the last 100+ years!
The Maypole is still there, and the tiny village school building still exists, but is no longer used for that purpose.

The building described as 'village school' was in fact the Wesleyan Chapel; built in 1875 it closed in 2008 and is now a holiday let.
Hi, Mark,
It's so long since I posted the photo, I can't remember why I thought it was the school!
You're right, though, the building on the right is the Wesleyan chapel - there's a bit more info here: https://www.mywesleyanmethodists.org.uk/content/chapels/dorset/sturminster-marshall-wesleyan-methodist-chapel
