Co-founder of Our Town Story. If you have any questions about the site, or wish to provide feedback, please visit the Admin forum and post in the appropriate place - we'll do our best to help you out as quickly as we can!

We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia

We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

Daffodil Pickers, Hoo St. Werburgh, 29th December 2015

Image Details

Temperatures in December 2015 were significantly above average for the time of year, meaning that the daffodil crop, normally expected in around March, was ready for picking just before New Year's Eve. Having started at the end of the field closest to the camera, you can just make out where the pickers have reached.

The Sheppey Crossing is just visible across the River Medway.

The Hoo daffodils appeared on the BBC WeatherWatchers segment of the Six O'Clock News last night, prompting a flurry (host?) of visits to OTS looking for more pictures.

As an update, here's a picture I took this morning in my way to work, looking in the opposite direction to the picture above:
