Co-founder of Our Town Story. If you have any questions about the site, or wish to provide feedback, please visit the Admin forum and post in the appropriate place - we'll do our best to help you out as quickly as we can!
We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia .
We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

An exterior view of the hardware store taken from the road. According to the National Archives:
"The 1911 Kelly's Directory gives the following description of the business; 'Wyatt Brothers, wholesale and retail ironmongers, plumbers, sanitary and hot water engineers, oil and color merchants, cutlers, gasfitters and sewing machine agents, 1 Market Place'
The firm took over the premises in 1907 from 'Lindsay and Dalrymple, also ironmongers. Most customers were from Blandford and the surrounding area and included firms such as Boots Ltd as well as schools, hospitals, Dorset County Council and private individuals. Wyatt Bros were still in existence in 1939."
