We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia

We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

Image Details

Holidaymakers make their way from the Promenade towards Talbot Road Station on the London & North Western Railway. The Church of the Sacred Heart contrasts with the futuristic decorations that adorn the post carrying the illuminations.

In the Streetview image for the location, the Yates's Grill building is being demolished - and was a Yates's right to the end....

I see that the Yates's in the picture in fact burned down in around 2009, with more details in this Guardian article ...
