Co-founder of Our Town Story. If you have any questions about the site, or wish to provide feedback, please visit the Admin forum and post in the appropriate place - we'll do our best to help you out as quickly as we can!

We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia

We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

Good Friday Procession, St Jude's, Birmingham, Date Unknown

Image Details

A Good Friday procession in Birmingham. St Jude's was demolished in 1971, and it is very hard to specifically locate this photo - although please feel free to take on the challenge.

The shop in the background appears to belong to T Pemberton - and there seem to have been many well-to-do Pembertons in Birmingham at the time. Locating that business is probably the key to locating the photo.

The postcard has 'Bristol Street' written on the back - but from what position of knowledge that comes from is uncertain - although Bristol Street is not too far from where St Jude's was on Hill Street.

Hint: Drag the orange pegman to see the Streetview image...
