We really want Our Town Story to be an album for your old photos, to fill in the gaps in the history books of our villages, towns and cities. We would also love for those pictures to be able to help others - for instance by using reminiscence therapy in treating dementia .
We're still a work in progress, and we appreciate all suggestions and observations!

The road looks particularly narrow in this Valentine picture looking towards The Square and the Minster beyond. Looking at the car, and the ladies' hats, it's probably taken in the early twenties.
St Andrew's University is the holder of the largest archive of monochrome topographical Valentine postcards; more information can be found on their website.

Interesting particularly as the imposing building in the right foreground is the one that became the Tivoli Theatre in 1936. People in Wimborne - me included - love ‘The Tiv’, but it involved the desecration of one of Wimborne’s finest Georgian houses. If it had stayed as it was, the house would have been occupied by one wealthy family and maintained the street scene; by becoming a theatre and cinema, it has brought pleasure to thousands. So who’s right? Discuss.
