This pictures shows my Grandmother (Phyllis Adeline Rawson) who later became Lady Rawson with her elder son (Philip Stanley Rawson). Philip Rawson became a Professor of Islamic art and taught at Durham University and was also the co founder of the Gulbenkian Museum of Oriental Art and Archaeology at Durham. He had nearly 30 books of art published throughout his life. A little bit of social history here to go with the house.
